A draw registration record for the TCS Marathon 2024!
An impressive number of 578, 374 people entered the draw to obtain a bib for the 2024 edition.
In 2023, 43,965 runners were able to cross the finish line.
Marathon
The start is in Greenwich Park and you finish in the heart of London, on the Mall, in the extension of Buckingham Palace, an enthusiastic and noisy crowd of spectators are present throughout the marathon and this until your arrival. The course, very scenic and fast, will make you discover some monuments of London (“Cutty Sark”, Tower Bridge, Cleopatra’s Needle, St Paul’s Cathedral, Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster).
A panoply of high-level athletes take part, and there is no shortage of performances! Paula Radcliffe still holds her 2.15.25 record since 2003, Kenyan Kelvin Kiptum ran the second fastest marathon in history in London this Sunday, April 23, 2023. Winner in 2:01:25 , he fell just 16 seconds off Eliud Kipchoge's world record.
Since its foundation, the profits of the event are donated to charities from the “London Marathon Foundation” which is responsible for distributing them. To date, they have awarded over £98m to hundreds of projects in London and across the UK.
And from 2024, a carbon tax has been added to the bib price to protect and help the planet. Moreover, we will leave you the choice to receive or not the t-shirt and the medal!
